We typically ship all orders within 2 business days. Back-ordered items may take longer and customers will be notified if this is the case. It should take between 3-7 business days to receive your order.

How is the Retractable ANYWHERE BABY GATE^® shipped to me?

Domestic shipments are normally sent via UPS Ground Service.

What are the delivery charges?

Calculated by formula based on UPS Domestic Ground Service unless faster delivery is requested. All shipping charges are determined through UPS online shipping model.

What is your return policy?

Product must be returned to place of original purchase.

We will only accept un-used and undamaged product returns.

Our Retractable ANYWHERE BABY GATE^® is fully refundable less delivery charges when our office is contacted within 10 days of receipt.

If product was ordered on this Playfence^® corporate website, please notify our business office first via e-mail (info@playfence.com) within 10 days of receipt of your order for your individualized return authorization number.

Once we receive your e-mail return request (within 10 days of receipt of your order), you will receive an e-mail confirmation letter with your return authorization number, your shipping/delivery history (provided by UPS), the appropriate return address and return instructions.

Each company authorized product return received at our office after 30 days from your receipt of purchase is subject to a $25.00 restocking fee.

If the child safety/pet gate is returned in its original box (un-used and undamaged) with all original packaging within the 30-day window, you will receive a full refund less shipping charges.

Product you received that was damaged in shipping must be reported to UPS immediately at 1-800-PICKUPS.

If I send one out as a gift, how will I know it was shipped?

All customers will receive an e-mail order confirmation message. We will send you another e-mail confirmation message at the time of shipment.

Can I ship it internationally?

Certainly, Canadian shipments can be processed online through our regular order channels. Will it match my décor?

The Retractable ANYWHERE BABY GATE^® has been attractively designed to blend in with woodwork, additionally the gate housing can be removed completely from the wall brackets. Most doors will still be able to close with or without the gate housing in place.

What is the best way to clean my Retractable ANYWHERE BABY GATE^®?

Wipe brackets, case, carrier bar and mesh with a mild soap and water solution. This gate is factory assembled and is not user serviceable. There are no replacement parts available for resale.

What is the limited product warranty?

Your purchase includes the following limited warranty, which is in lieu of all other expressed or implied warranties. This warranty is extended to the initial consumer purchaser only. Warranty registration is not required. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may have other rights, which vary from state to state. Playfence® Retractable Gate and its components are warranted to be free from faulty materials and workmanship for 90 days from date of original purchase.

What are the conditions of the Warranty?

It is the responsibility of the original consumer purchaser to ensure that all the parts included in the factory or warehouse sealed carton are properly installed and that all functional parts are working properly. Keep the original purchase receipt in a safe place. The lack of proof of original purchase date may render this warranty null and void. The user assumes all risk of personal injuries, damages, or failure of the Playfence® Retractable Gate and any other losses if the Playfence® Retractable Gate is altered or used in any way inconsistent with the Retractable Gate's originally designed purpose.

How quick and easy is it to install?

The Retractable ANYWHERE BABY GATE^® arrives to you fully assembled. Complete installation instructions are included. 5 minutes should be adequate enough time to install the wall bracket kits when using the included hardware.

How do I take the gate housing off of one set of mounting units and install it onto another set?

Lift the case straight upward about 1/4-inch. Tilt upper end of case slightly away from the top of bracket so that top, middle, and bottom studs will come free from bracket. To attach case to any wall bracket, hold case upright, with winding knob on top and with the three metal studs towards the wall bracket. Insert the bottom stud into the bottom slot of bracket first, and then insert the middle and top studs into the corresponding slots of the wall bracket. Push the case downward about 1/4-inch so that it is firmly seated into bracket.

Is it secure in drywall, or do I have to mount it to a frame?

The manufacturer recommends that screws for the wall brackets should always be inserted into a doorframe or into the studs behind the drywall for added security.

Are extra sets of wall mounting brackets available so that I can move the Retractable ANYWHERE BABY GATE^® from one doorway to another?

Extra sets of wall brackets may be purchased for installing in a different doorway, or at bottom of stairs, or across a hallway, etc. The Retractable ANYWHERE BABY GATE^® can then easily be relocated in seconds, without tools, for aesthetics or repositioning in another doorway or hall. This will help limit movement of toddlers or pets in different areas of your home at different times of the day. In addition, the Retractable ANYWHERE BABY GATE^® may be used at another location if a second set of wall brackets has been installed there. Just order a spare bracket set for each extra doorway to be protected. Our Retractable ANYWHERE BABY GATE^® is also re-installable if you move.

What is the easiest way to lock and tighten the Retractable ANYWHERE BABY GATE^®?

For ease of use, insert the bottom stud first. Once all three carrier bar studs are inserted into the bracket, move the ratchet release lever into the locked position. Turn the winding knob (on top of housing) CLOCKWISE gently to increase tension until gate is tight. You will hear the ratchet gear teeth click as you turn the knob.

How do I know that the gate is secured properly?

There are 3 metal studs attached to the carrier bar. The studs are inserted into matching slots in the wall-mounting bracket and moved downwards into the locked position. Once the carrier bar studs are pushed down into the locked position and the gate is rewound to increase the tension (according to our instructions), the Retractable ANYWHERE BABY GATE^® is secured properly.

How do I rewind the gate when it has been secured properly?

It will first be necessary to unlock the ratchet release lever located at the top of the housing case (Because the ratchet gear teeth are engaged when properly secured, they must be released first).

To disengage the gears, it is necessary to wind the top knob clockwise JUST A LITTLE while putting a little pressure on the ratchet release lever. The lever will move to the unlocked position, and you will feel the gears disengage.

Lift the carrier bar upward about 1/4-inch and tilt the top slightly away from the bracket so that top, middle and bottom studs will come free from bracket. Wind the knob CLOCKWISE to retract the mesh gate into the case. For additional safety, we recommend that the carrier bar be wrapped around the side of the case so that the studs can be inserted into the three slots in the side of the case when not in use. For some reason I can't pull open the mesh; what is wrong?

The Retractable ANYWHERE BABY GATE^® is equipped with a ratchet release lever at the top of the case. The ratchet release lever must be in the unlocked position to allow the mesh to be unrolled across the opening.

If the release lever does not EASILY move to unlocked position, it means the gear teeth are engaged. To disengage the gears, it is necessary to wind the top knob clockwise JUST A LITTLE while putting a little finger pressure on the ratchet release lever. The lever will move to the unlocked position, and you will feel the gears disengage.

Pull the carrier bar and mesh across the opening as far as needed to reach the opposite wall bracket. Our product may be a bit "stiff" from production, but you will find that it will become easier and easier to open and close one-handed with time.

How do I rewind the gate with one hand?

There is a very easy way to manually use the turning knob to rewind the gate.  Once you are ready to rewind the gate back into the housing we suggest that you place the top stud from the carrier bar (the bar that pulls the mesh across the opening) into the top keyhole slot in the housing (the long rectangular box that holds the mesh).   You can rewind the gate with one hand, and even with one finger, by positioning your finger (point your index finger downward) between one of the grooves in the turning knob and circling your finger counterclockwise.
